Product Design: Designing Fitbit For Elderly
The project aims to enhance the elderly care through the utilization of Fitbit technology by the client, Silver Genie. By leveraging Fitbit's capabilities, the project sought to promote active lifestyles, monitor vital signs, and provide real-time caregiver alerts.
Project Brief
The app had a cluttered interface, making it difficult for users to navigate and find essential features. Users were facing issues with the onboarding process, which was affecting new user adoption rates. The app lacked personalization and customization options, making it less engaging and user-friendly.
Scope of Intervention
Motivations/Rewards/Incentives Program for elderly to achieve fitness parameters.
Emergency/Fall detection and response systems design + Device level UI
Integration into google ecosystem of fitbit devices for elderly.
My Role
As the lead designer, I contributed to strategic planning, conceptualization, UI/UX design, and the creation of a concept explainer video prototype. Through a holistic approach, my contributions aimed to enhance the user experience, visually communicate the project's concept, and ensure seamless navigation and usability for the elderly target audience.
Target Audience
The target audience we aim to cater are the high class premium living senior citizens i.e 60 years & above of age living in Delhi NCR who have some knowledge about the technology.
Design Process
Understand: The scope of the project required comprehensive understanding of the project through various lenses, understanding the behavior and psychology of the target audience, and understanding how fitibit can be integrated into their daily lives for their support and daily growth.
Research & Analysis: Extensive research was conducted to gather insights on the physical and mental well-being of elderly individuals, including common health issues and activity patterns. This involved reviewing existing studies, conducting surveys, and consulting with healthcare professionals. Some insights that I got after interviewing people from NCR :

My Role
As the lead designer, I contributed to strategic planning, conceptualization, UI/UX design, and the creation of a concept explainer video prototype. Through a holistic approach, my contributions aimed to enhance the user experience, visually communicate the project's concept, and ensure seamless navigation and usability for the elderly target audience.
These research points were gathered after filtering the audience data through Technological, Health and Social lifestyle to make a design a concept.
We conducted a comprehensive secondary research on Fitbit, Google Ecosystem of products, Silver genie, the target audience, Fitbit and consumer health, Wear OS to gain some insights and the direction to tap into.

Secondary Research
Several ideas were generated within the course of 1 week timeline, the ideas generated were formed keeping in mind of the relation of silver genie with their clients and fitbit technology team. the ease of operating were well kept.
Final Idea
IDEA | The application offers an intrinsic motivation to the elderly by providing a rewards system wherein they can earn points upon successfully accomplishing self-established daily goals.
IDEA | Secondly integrating the tap to pay system in the watch which will make the hectic payment system easy for the elders.
The proposed Silver Genie application has been meticulously designed with a strong focus on accessibility and ease of operation specifically tailored for elderly users. Taking into consideration the unique needs and challenges faced by the elderly population, the application features a simplified user interface, intuitive navigation, and clear instructions.
Documentation
The scope of the project involved a comprehensive understanding of elderly care requirements and the potential applications of Fitbit technology. Silver Genie aimed to analyze the specific needs of elderly individuals, such as health monitoring and activity tracking, to design tailored solutions.
